The Rise of Graphic Design Education and Technology

The two most important traditional techniques in design and construction, and consequently in architecture in the Kutztown and Pennslyvania region, are stucco work and masonry. Both employ locally available materials, combined with techniques that date from the past and remain popular today. Many people confuse the expression ‘stucco work’ with that of stucco coating. Neither is it an either/or proposition, however. A stucco coating can be thick or thin, while stucco work is normally thick; even so, the term is commonly used to refer to both processes.

Traditional techniques such as stucco work and masonry are also at the heart of other traditional techniques in design and construction, including furniture selection, flooring selection and kitchen and bathroom remodeling. In addition to Pennslyvania and Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that there are a great number of places in the country where traditional techniques and construction are prominent. Included in these areas are states such as North Carolina (rural areas), Texas (beltway cities), Wisconsin (labor-intensive cities), Minnesota (small cities), New Mexico (big cities), Oregon (mountain areas), Illinois (rural areas), California (median cities), Arizona (rural areas), Missouri (numberless rural areas), Kentucky (large cities), West Virginia (mountains), Oklahoma (greater regions), Virginia (larger cities), and Illinois (labor-intensive cities).

Graphic design education and construction are concerned with the combination of traditional techniques with new techniques that enhance creativity and knowledge production. Graphic design education and construction use the skills associated with traditional techniques and the creative process to promote communication of information within the educational system. These teachers combine traditional methods of design with graphics, textures, color, line, form, and texture. The graphic design education and construction school incorporate the concepts of technical art, applied research, graphic design, computer aided drawing, and computer aided drawing into a curriculum that is relevant to every discipline.

The graphic design education and construction teachers who teach at the summit share a commitment to the continuous development of the industry. They understand that the world of tomorrow will be technologically dominant and that the world’s consumers demand it. Graphic design education and construction schools are constantly seeking ways to introduce innovative technology into their teaching processes and their curricula. They have found that the best way to teach this new information is to first explain what it is and how it can enhance the processes. Once they have done that, they can teach the students how the technology is used.
